AFIS Core

The AFIS core is the heart of the AFIS system and is comprised of four server components (matching, database, communication and backup servers) and the Administrative Workstation, which is responsible for management of the entire AFIS system.

Some of the main features of AFIS Core are:
  • Real-time “one-to-one” verification of persons by their fingerprints with a Livescan scanner
  • Rapid identification of suspects and fugitives
  • Identification of persons sought by Interpol or other international law-enforcement agencies
  • Identification of subjects who are either unable, or unwilling, to provide information about themselves in the event of mental illness, accidents, etc.
  • Identification of criminals by their latent fingerprints collected from crime scenes
  • Identification of deceased, including victims of accidents and natural disasters
  • Identification of criminals by latent fingerprints collected from crime scenes
  • The AFIS Core can scale to support a few to thousands of users
  • Mobile devices are also supported to do on the spot identification of suspects

BWS

The Booking Workstation (BWS) is a dedicated system for the creation of high-quality, electronic tenprint cards.

Some of the main features of the BWS are:
  • Compressing tenprint images
  • Storing tenprint data records in the system database or AFIS system
  • Printing tenprint cards
  • Searching for tenprint cards with using known text data in local database of the AFIS system
  • Verifying the identity of a person by their fingerprint against the local database or AFIS system

EWS

The Expert Workstation (EWS) is an entire fingerprint forensics lab in a single application. Once suspects are entered into the AFIS, fingerprint forensics experts can use EWS to analyze and code all of the prints as well as run searches on tenprint cards to latent prints, tenprint to tenprint, and latent to latent prints among the many available.

Some of the main features of EWS are:
  • Easy import of tenprint cards and latent print cards via a flatbed scanner
  • Importation of fingerprint, palmprint and latent prints into the AFIS system.
  • Auto encoding and easy to perform manual encoding of fingerprints
  • The ability to run searches on both tenprint cards and palm print cards to latent prints on unsolved cases.

EL

Expert Lab (EL) is a stand-alone forensics application that gives you the ability to capture and process images and fingerprints for expert examinations.

Some of the main features of EL are:
  • Acquire and process images and make them usable for conducting expert examinations
  • Carry out comparative examinations
  • Prepare documents (illustrations, photographs, reports, examination worksheets, etc.) and produce them in hardcopy
  • Store images, documents and maintain collections
A list of objects that can be processed within EL:
  • Fingerprints and palmprints (including latent ones)
  • Ballistic objects
  • Objects subjected to trace evidence analysis
  • Cold arms
  • Documents
  • Specimens of handwriting
  • Different micro objects lifted at crime scenes
