What is BioTime?

BioTime

BioTime is an easy to use biometric time and attendance and access control system. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, it makes managing your employees and physical security easy to do.

Why do I need it?

BioTime is expandable and can meet all of your company’s needs. Here are some examples of why: Win 7
  • Collects real time information about the presence of employee, vendors and visitors in the office.
  • Supports easy creation of both employee schedules and physical access rules.
  • Generates reports based on a variety of criteria.
  • Allows you discrete control of employee access to secured, highly restricted areas and checkpoints.
  • Create and manage areas, checkpoints, access schedules and rules enabling customization of authorized access for an individual employee, a department or for the entire company.
  • Makes it easy to keep track of all employee movements across all company offices from a central server.

How does it work?

BioTime is flexible and can be used for:
  • Time and attendance and access control of employees, using both standard means of identification (contactless card, passwords, PIN codes) and biometric ones (fingerprints).
  • Creation and management of access schedules and rules regulating employee access to restricted areas and checkpoints.
  • Employee time analysis and reports generated based on verified check in and checkout events.
  • Automation of time-keeping routines and management of absences.
  • And much more....

Who uses it?

BioTime is ideal for businesses of any size. Small and medium-sized businesses will benefit from the efficiency, ease of installation and operation. While large businesses and other enterprises can centrally manage attendance information from widely-dispersed offices and branches.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE BIO-TIME

BioTime’s flexible and modular architecture allows it to be scaled to a small, medium or large enterprise. It's available in two editions: Professional (up to 200 employees) and Enterprise (unlimited number of employees).

BioTime Components

  • BioTime Manager – The administrative workstation. The workstation is responsible for registering employees, their personal data (including biometric identifiers), building schedules and creating time management policies, generating reports, inserting data on vacation leaves, business trips, sick leaves, etc.
  • BioTime Clock – A checkpoint (or a reception). It displays information about the recorded event (arrival/departure), employee’s full name and photo, shows the full list of the company employees with indication of their status (present/absent).
  • BioTime Agent – An instant notification agent. It displays real time information on the events registered in the system (arrival/departures).
  • BioTime Server – Responsible for storing the biometric records of employees and processing requests for identification from workstations.

BioTime Architecture

All terminals can operate in local, network and combined modes thus providing a system fault-tolerance, which means that in the event of LAN failures and/or temporary unavailability of BioTime Server BioTime system continue functioning.

All time and attendance management procedures are automated and centralized. The system generates consolidated and detailed reports with information on overtimes and under times, truancies and hours actually worked by a given employee.

It is recommended to use BioTime both for time management and access control. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the following benefits:

Fingerpass 3
  • Unification of rules and policies for time management and access control across the organization.
  • Transparency of rules and procedures for the management and employees.
  • Simplified system administration, reduction of routine procedures.
  • Integration of management and security systems.
  • Reduction of operational costs and organizational expenses.
  • Increased security, labor discipline, efficiency of working time utilization and enhanced productivity.

Time & Attendance and Access control integration using Fingerpass

Biometrics for access control is gaining popularity each day for its profitability, security and user-friendliness. Covering a vast number of market needs, biometrics is an obvious choice of enterprises globally.

The FingerPass EX is a biometric terminal intended for time management and physical access control. The terminal allows recording the arrival and departure events of the company’s employees and managing electromechanical and electromagnetic door-locks, turnstiles, gateways opening them upon successful verification of users by their fingerprints enrolled earlier into the system

BioTime Access Control Architecture

  • The supported identifiers are fingerprints, contactless proximity cards, and a combination of those parameters to target various enterprise needs (i.e., fingerprint + card). Thus, the device is universal and can be used to build highly secured control systems, easily accessible by authorized persons and non-accessible by malicious users.
  • The terminal is equipped with a buzzer and LEDs thus providing user-friendliness and convenience. Users are promptly notified on the identification result through signal and color indication.
  • FingerPass allows for one-to-many identification (a fingerprint is the only parameter required for successful identification) and one-to-one identification (a produced fingerprint is compared against its digital template stored in the internal memory of the terminal).
  • BioFortress allows the management of user rights to access the most sensitive areas, such as top management offices, server rooms, inventory stock, etc. For example, an ordinary employee can only be granted the right to go through the central entrance, while the system administrator, apart from the central entrance, will also be authorized to access the server room. A higher protection level is achieved through building several security contours, meaning that a person who managed to get unauthorized access into one security contour will be denied access to another security contour. Access to protected areas and facilities is granted according to the time schedule defined by the enterprise security service.
BioTime is a modular biometric based time and attendance solution. This solution is a perfect way to overcome buddy punching, and provide an attendance system and physical access control for small and medium-sized businesses and large enterprises due to its modular design and scalability:

Multi Factor System

  • Biometric identifiers (What you are)
  • Proximity cards (What you have)
  • PIN code (What you know)

Scalable

  • One facility (LAN connection)
  • Centralized database for Distributed organization (WAN connection, over the internet)

Multi functionality

  • Time & Attendance
  • Physical Access Control (FingerPass EX)
  • Time & Attendance + physical access control

Multi configuration

  • Based on USB biometric fingerprint devices
  • Based on wall mounted devices (FingerPass EX & TM)
  • Based on embedded, Ethernet based devices
